Sonnet 137  Thou blind fool, Love, what dost thou to mine eyes, 

 Thou blind fool, Love, what dost thou to mine eyes,

瞎蠢的愛神，你對我眼睛做什麼，
That they behold, and see not what they see?

以致於它們在觀查，而不知其妙？
They know what beauty is, see where it lies,

他們知道何謂美，知道誰是美的，（看看它的謊言），
Yet what the best is take the worst to be.

卻還是把最糟糕的，看成了最好。
If eyes, corrupt by over-partial looks,

如果我的眼睛，因為偏見而硬拗，
Be anchored in the bay where all men ride,

瞄到眾男人騎坐著狹灣裡的船，
（瞄到許多男人共用了一個女人）
Why of eyes' falsehood hast thou forged hooks

為什麼眼睛看錯了，你（愛神）卻偽造
Whereto the judgment of my heart is tied?

了愛的陷阱，綁住了我心的判斷？
Why should my heart think that a several plot,

為何我一直認為她是我所獨佔，（是私人佔有地）
Which my heart knows the wide world's common place?

而我心現在知道她為大眾共享？ (是一塊公共用地)
Or mine eyes, seeing this, say this is not,

或者我眼睛，見此濫交，卻說不算，
To put fair truth upon so foul a face?

硬把美貌蓋在如此醜惡的臉上？
　In things right true my heart and eyes have erred,

我的心和眼已經弄錯了真相，
　And to this false plague are they now transferred.

他們現在已遭虛假瘟疫感染。

第三句，在此 see where it lies,

看着它的謊言，指第五句over-partial looks; 如果第三句翻譯為，知道美在何處，可能
指第六句 anchored in the bay.
第六句 Bay 有性的暗示，翻譯成狹灣或深溝，性意識較為明顯。
第九句a several plot, 一個有圍牆分籬的幾個地塊，意指其為私人佔有地。
第十四句，如實翻譯：對這虛偽的感染病，他們( 心與眼) 現在相互移轉(?)，意譯：對這虛偽女人…， 他們都( 心與眼)
愛上了( 知道了)…， 評論家懷疑當時普遍存在的“瘟疫＂可能暗示着性病感染…
