Unthrifty loveliness why dost thou spend,          

俊俏的浪子，你為什么如此花費，

Upon thy self thy beauty’s legacy?                

耗用在你自己天賦美容的身上？

Nature’s bequest gives nothing but doth lend,     

造化並非無端赐予天稟，只是(讓您)借用；

And being frank she lends to those are free:       

坦白的說， 是免費讓那些人借用:

(她慷慨地讓慷慨的人免費借用 )

Then beauteous niggard why dost thou abuse,        

那麼美麗的蠢蛋，你為什麼濫用，

The bounteous largess given thee to give?          

將那贈送给你的寬裕賞賜,送給了

Profitless usurer why dost thou use               

 那無法獲益的高利贷者，為什麼

So great a sum of sums yet canst not live?         

用了如此多筆巨額(總數)，卻不能存活？

For having traffic with thy self alone,           

因為你僅與自己自爽交流，就是

Thou of thy self thy sweet self dost deceive,     

欺骗了你自己及那俊俏(甜蜜)的自稟。

Then how when nature calls thee to be gone,        

當造化召唤你回去？你如何交差，

What acceptable audit canst thou leave?     

留下來了什麼可以被接受(認可)的账簿，

Thy unused beauty must be tombed with thee,        

你未使用的天稟，必將與你同葬，

Which used lives th’ executor to be.              

你用了，將活著執行同樣的天稟

造物主對你慷慨(unthrifty, legacy bequest, free)，使你現長得年輕俊俏，你可要生育傳承這份恩賜，不要空當一個不圖感恩的 beauteous niggard，否則老來一切華美終將逝去，生育的天賦無用(unused)而無子嗣(childless)，就甚麼也不會留下了。
