Sonnet 67 Ah! wherefore with infection should he live, 十二言

Ah! wherefore with infection should he live,

啊! 為什麼要他活在感染之地，
And with his presence grace impiety,

而因他存（同）在，恩典庇蔭著該地，
That sin by him advantage should achieve,

那個罪藉他之勢而得到利益，
And lace itself with his society?

而因他相伴隨，罪美化了自己？
Why should false painting imitate his cheek,

為何化妝師要模仿他的臉腮，
And steal dead seeming of his living hue?

並竊取，卻呆板化了，他的神彩？
Why should poor beauty indirectly seek

因為他的美是真的，為何可悲
Roses of shadow, since his rose is true?

上流（妝）美，要間接尋仿虛構之美？
Why should he live, now Nature bankrupt is,

如今造化（上蒼）破產，為何仍用珍稀
Beggared of blood to blush through lively veins?

的血液，潤紅了管脈，讓他活著？
For she hath no exchequer now but his,

因為除他（的美）外，她現在已無能力，
And proud of many, lives upon his gains.

（培）養這麼多人，仰賴其（他的美）效益過活。
　O! him she stores, to show what wealth she had

呵，上蒼（造化）讓他活著，是為了顯示
　In days long since, before these last so bad.

流年（世道）未衰前，其作品何等美實。
　　
sonnet 67 有許多商業用語，例如advantage, bankrupt,Beggared, exchequer, proud, gains, stores, wealth＂等字，較難
瞭解具原意。Infection 感染，亦可指模仿，that sin 指感染模仿假造之罪，him, his gains 指自然得天恩賜之美。第六句，
dead seeming 原始句子是dead seeing。第六句直譯；並竊取了他看似呆板的神彩？
第十二句 proud 有其他英譯者，做 priv' d 或 provide, 不同的闡釋， 第十一、 十二句，試直譯如下： 因為除他（的美）
外，上蒼現在已無能力培養（provided）這麼多俊美之人，她驕傲（Proud）的看到這麼多人，要模仿他的（gains）臉
龐及神韻（看第五、第六句) 而活著。請比對參考資料VI 內的英文翻譯。
第十三、十四句試直譯：上蒼（造化）讓他活著是為了展示，在這些錯事（false painting, sonnet 68 假髮,sonnet 127
false borrow' d face）持續了這麼久之前，她所造之人是何等（wealth）俊美豐富。

第五行,雖然用面首在字音表相上可符押韻，但是面首在中文裡有其他非字面的意義
